Timeghoul were an american death-metal band from the 90s that never produced anything beyond demos. These two demos, however, can be considered far beyond great on virtually all levels. The bands foreman (Jeff Hayden*) led the band like a classical composer, arranging music first, lyrics last. The riffs were expansive and never repetitive (it wasn't allowed) and the tuning was set as a unique contrast - an if tones weren't hit, they were done over or made to be so. Lyrically, Timeghouls theme(s) were considered 'fantasty', using fantasy elements as allegory to various topics.

tl;dr - classic (if you count the 90s classic) example of how death metal should be, spanning vast inspirations and incorporating mass elements but still maintaining the dark core of death metal.
