Falkenbach - Tiurida (2011)

Re-upped....HELL YES! Falkenbach's new album. The band is a one man show - He does all vocal and instrument arrangements. This is also one of the oldest blackened viking/folk metal bands around forming in 1989. Just go to metal-archives and read some of the reviews to their previous 4 albums; there is plenty of them all scoring very high and I am sure this album will be well done like the earlier ones. Enjoy, also grab the new DevilDriver below!

DevilDriver - Beast (2011)

The long awaited DevilDriver release is finally out. In my opinion, it's better the its predecessor - Pray for Villains.

Basically, it's a perfect blend of groove and death metal. The riffs really stand out and are solid as fuck. The drums are killer with massive number of fills, so they can't bore you. And to top it all off, those recognizable sick bark-like Dez Fafara vocals are still there.

Give it a go, it's actually quite good.

Hibria - Blind Ride (2011)

Hibria is a fun band to listen to if you like speed metal and power metal with a melodic vocalist who has a great range. Just listen to the youtube link and you will see what I mean. Anyway, enjoy their new album and also get the new Deicide album below from turtle lover.

Deicide - To Hell With God (2011)

New fucking Deicide is here. After the first listen, it sounds like they're back to their old sound and it kicks ass. Benton's vocals seem to have lost some intensity and brutality, but it's still a hell of a good job.

Get this, you filthy satanists.

Purgatory - Necromantaeon (2011)

A new release from the German death metal band Purgatory is out. You like it when I'm all formal, don't you? Oh, I know you do.

Anyway, straightforward, no compromise, brutal blast beats, sick vocals, great riffs. Just death fucking metal. If you haven't heard of Purgatory, what can I tell you - the time is now.

Go ahead, click on stuff.

Arafel - For Battles Once Fought (2011)

Re-upped. Helge Stang of ex-Equilibrium (Germany) fame does vocals for this band! just had to throw that out there. This is Arafel's third release and it took them 6 years to release it, it's about time. Arafel are a cool band I discovered some years ago who play symphonic black/folk metal and come from Tel Aviv, Israel. I recommend giving the band a try. Short review, yes, but just let the music do the talking. You should like this if you are a fan of symphonic metal, melodic black metal, death metal, or folk metal. If you liked the post below, Dreamshade, this will be for you too! Enjoy...

P.S. - Do I dare to say this is already a contender for 2011 top 10?! METAL FOREVER!

Dreamshade - What Silence Hides (2011)

This new wave of melodic death metal is coming from Switzerland, a country which has never given birth to any important act of this genre. Dreamshade’s newest album “What Silence Hides” is said to be a breath of fresh air and that it is going to stand out among the others thanks to it’s sound: a mixture of guitar solos and melodies which will reach your emotions, in-your-face rhythmics able to make you headbang and break your neck, incredibly technical drums, atmospheric keyboards, ripping screams and growls. I took this little review of the band from their last.fm page. Anyways, this album rips! The vocal work, keyboard work, soloing work, and drum work is well executed and I know you guys will like this. Give it a try and listen to their myspace first to see what you will be getting into, this truly is great melodic death metal. Enjoy...
