Haarp - The Filth [2010]

When a Mr. Anselmo slipped me a demo of this band a year ago, I didn't know what to expect, but it was pure and HEAVY.
Now that I have heard their debut full length "The Filth" I realize that this album should be put in the dictionary when describing the epitome of HEAVY in a metal band theses days.
Mr. Anselmo knew what he was doing when he signed this band to his "Housecore Records" Label. Sludge Doom so good that The guys In EYEHATEGOD went back to the rehearsal space to start all over at square one, because they got schooled. Riffs so HEAVY it makes the walls shake.
There is something about the music from the swamps of Louisiana that makes it sound like pure evil, And HEAVY, it's not what I'd call straight doom or sludge but an mixture of bands like Slayer and Pig Destroyer dipped in Molasses. Slow & full of hatred and anger.
No offense to my friends in New Orleans and places in Louisiana, but if it took a hurricane to inspire and create music like this, then I cannot wait to hear what music will sound like when the apocalypse comes to Louisiana.
For fans Of Crowbar,EYEHATEGOD,Acid Bath and Electric Wizard.

Haarp's "The Filth" Is a record that will not disappoint. And In My opinion its in my top ten for the year. Enjoy!
