This is a lost classic of the Death Metal genre. Read that last sentence again if you didn't get it and keep reading it until it sinks in. Simply one of the heaviest records ever released. Back in the early 90's me and my buds dug the hell out of this cassette (I've got it on Cd now) and the band's wicked style of American death metal influenced our own garage-band aspirations. I mean, fuck!, this album is heavy and why these guys aren't more well-known is beyond me. There's not a weak moment on this album. Album-opener "The Suffering" starts off with a killer riff where the guitar stops and the bass rumbles along. And the singer has one of the lowest DM voices ever. "Valley of the Dead" is scary, the lyrics are so morbid "I-Can't-Wait-Until-Am-Deaaaddd!!!!!!" Musically, this song starts out slow and cruncy and then breaks into a full-on blastbeat attack. "Boiled In Blood" has a catchy chorus, really it's just the way that the singer and backup singers enunciate the song title. My favorite song off the album is closer "Streaks of Blood." Starting off with a distorted bass intro, the guitar riff is so crushingly mean and lyrically it reminds me of Norman Bates and Psycho. I can't say enough good about this album. It is death metal perfection, not overly-technical but pulverizingly heavy from start to finish with very well-written and catchy songs. If you are a death metal fan and you like old Brjueria, Cannibal Corpse or SFU, get this. It's much better than a lot of albums by well-known bands and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
